Is this program right for your child?
PHP is designed for children whose emotional regulation or behavior is starting to interfere with daily life. You may notice sudden outbursts, frequent calls from school, or your child being sent home because they can’t stay regulated. Everyday routines, transitions, following directions, peer interactions, or completing basic tasks may feel overwhelming for your child and exhausting for your family.
If outpatient therapy, school supports, or behavior plans haven’t been enough, this program provides more structure, consistency, and therapeutic support than once-a-week therapy. It helps children build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and regain stability without removing them from home or school.
If you want meaningful support before things escalate, this program may be the right next step.
There’s a solution most Cleveland parents don’t know exists: a structured, full day treatment program where your child gets hospital-level care during the day and comes home to you every single night.
If you checked even one box, your child, ages 4-12, may need our Partial Hospitalization Program. This is the highest level of outpatient care available before hospital admission.
Our most intensive level of care, full day treatment is for children who need more support than outpatient therapy. Five days a week, children get structured, therapeutic, and clinically supervised programming to stabilize behavior, improve emotional regulation, and build skills for success at home, school, and in the community.
As children progress, we help families transition to step-down services for continued growth.
How PHP differs from IOP or weekly therapy
PHP is a full day program (5–8 hours, Monday–Friday) for children 4–12 who need intensive stabilization but can stay home evenings and weekends. Your child receives hospital-level psychiatric care, therapy, skills training, and educational support, returning home each night. Treatment usually lasts 6-9 months, with the goal of stabilizing your child and stepping down to less intensive care.
The full day treatment Program serves children ages 4–12 with a diagnosed mental health condition
that is significantly impacting their ability to function in one or more areas of daily life, including:
The full day treatment Program provides individualized care through daily therapeutic groups and individual services, including counseling, Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), and Community Psychiatric Support Treatment (CPST). This comprehensive approach delivers intensive support while helping children remain connected to their families, routines, and community.
